Indian DTH provider Tata Sky announced a collaboration with payments technology company Visa. They have rolled out a Tata Sky QR Code that allows subscribers to recharge their accounts with ease.
Tata Sky subscribers will now see a QR Code on their screens, which can be scanned using a smartphone. The Tata Sky QR Code will redirect to a payment platform powered by mVisa.
mVisa enables secure, digital commerce through the mobile phone, which today has become the single point of access to technology for consumers. The mVisa solution for Tata Sky subscribers will cater to a large user base across India – T.R. Ramachandran, Group Country Manager, India and South Asia, Visa
It seems that Tata Sky is taking a cue from Indian mobile payments provider Paytm. In 2015, Paytm rolled out peer-to-peer payments using QR Codes.
